The Safe Sport Coordinator serves as a resource for athletes, families, and coaches and helps guide the reporting process when concerns arise. This role supports a safe and positive environment for all participants.
Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy (MAAPP)
EGRA Waves fully implements the Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy (MAAPP) as required by USA Swimming (Effective January 1, 2025).
Our policy addresses the following critical areas to reduce risk and protect athletes:
- One-on-One Interactions: Must be observable and interruptible
- Travel & Transportation: No one-on-one transportation without consent
- Two-deep leadership encouraged
- Electronic Communication: Parents must be included in communication
- No private social media messaging
- Locker Rooms & Changing Areas: No recording devices allowed
- Monitoring procedures in place
- Manual Therapy & Recovery: Must be performed by licensed professionals
- Requires parent consent and supervision
